Annual Holiday Festival

The Annual Holiday Festival is a two week long craft show and bake sale that benefits the Old Depot Museum.  It is located at 19 Washington Street this year (across from the Washington Street Super Market) and is open 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Saturday and 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Sunday.  This year the Holiday Festival is from December 2 - 14, so there is still time for you to celebrate the holiday season by purchasing holiday treats and crafts while supporting a local museum!

Here are some pictures of the Holiday Festival to get you in the holiday spirit!

Annual Christmas Parade

The City of Selma hosted its annual Christmas Parade on December 7, 2013.   Broad Street was lined with spectators on both sides of the street as over 80 groups participated in the parade.  Bands, floats, and walking units were judged based on factors such as appearance, theme, and creativity and the top three groups in each category received an award. Riverdale High School Band placed first, Southside High School Band placed second, and Selma High School Band placed third. Wallace Community College Selma placed first in the float category, while McRae Gaines Prep School placed second and Clark Elementary School Cheerleaders placed third. For the walking units, Edgewood Elementary Cheerleaders placed first, McConnell Twins Dance Studio placed second, and third place was a tie between Payne Elementary School and Clark Elementary School Gentlemen of Excellence

If you missed the parade this year, we invite you to join us next year for the fun!  Here are some pictures from this year's Christmas Parade in Selma:
